Resource Constraints

Doing something yourself due to resource constraints isn’t an excuse for that work to fall short of standards in quality.

Your work will be consumed without consideration, with no preambles or asterisks. Nobody cares about the situation regarding the creation of your work unless they already care about your work to begin with.

It’s important to understand what you’re risking if you can’t delegate in an area that’s outside your expertise. If you take up the work, admirable as it may be, expectations of quality will remain the same.

Valuable questions to ask yourself if your resources and expertise are misaligned:

Do I need the project to have the characteristics provided by this expertise?

Can I change the characteristics to something which suits my skill set?

Is it worth the opportunity cost to gain the skills required to see the characteristics through to a level of professional quality?
